Twitter Will Purge Old and Inactive Accounts Says Elon Musk

If you've been eyeing a certain username on Twitter for a long time, you might be in luck. Twitter is deleting inactive accounts on its platform, which may free up thousands of long-coveted usernames; this is according to a recent tweet by its owner Elon Musk.

Actually, Twitter has an inactive account policy that states that users should log in at least every 30 days to keep their accounts from being permanently removed. However, this policy has not been enforced for a long time, and there are many accounts that have been dormant for years. According to Elon Musk, Twitter will be purging accounts that have had "no activity at all for several years", while also warning users that the result of the purge may mean users' follower accounts may drop. Musk also said that this is part of Twitter's effort to improve its platform and reduce spam and bots.

What do you think of this eminent Twitter purge? Do you have any usernames that you want to get or change? Let us know in the comments below.
